Biography

• Metka Komac grew up with tennis, her father is a tennis coach. She started learning when she was 4, and she took it up seriously at the age of six. When she was eleven, her father died. She left all the hobbies she had been keen on, to dedicate all her free time to tennis. Her hard work, commitment, and determination helped her gain visible success in this sport. She was still 15 when she won the national championship in category 18+ and a month before turning 16 she won masters in the same category. At 13, she had no real opponent or sparring at the local club and her coach got an invitation to work in Germany, with better training conditions. Now she only comes home take exams at school

Good control and direction of the forehand, plays with a good depth. Can improve further if using her legs better. A normal backhand, with a high bounce on the opponent side, not easy to handle. She plays her slice shot in a way that allows to hide it well, which is an advantage, and help change the spin and pace in the game. Need to improve volleys, using the racquet weight better and preparing her approaches to the net, not allowing opponents to hit a passing shot. Also can improve returnes, using more shoulders on the swing motion. She serves normal, well placed and controlled, but need to make a smoother body motion to raise speed. Overall she is a consistent baseline player with a good ball feeling and a stable serve. Plays defensively and tries to keep the ball in play with diverse arsenal of shots and spins.
